Ultimately, these archives will represent the full breadth of Skip Rowland’s photography, ranging to images captured on film in the 70′s to digital captures made this past year. At the moment, it is a work in progress. We started in the middle and are going to be working forwards and backwards until we have archived our entire photography catalog.

The current contents (May 2001 – March 2004) are the best of my pre-dSLR images; they include both scanned images from film, as well as digital images taken with my Kodak LS443 point-and-shoot. On one hand, it proves that anyone with a camera can become a photographer, if they want to. On the other, there are some pretty decent images that show I was heading in the right direction .

The images shot between May and December of 2001 were shot with a Canon EOS Rebel 2000 (a film camera), printed as 4x6s, and then scanned with an HP Photo Scanner. (We’ve come quite a ways since then…). Starting in 2002, the film images were scanned by the lab (Ritz) as part of the basic film processing. I’ll just say that I hope they’ve improved since then, because their results were really inconsistent.

I bought my first dSLR in March 2004 and haven’t shot much film since them; those archives will be a little easier to bring online. However, I have a ton (nearly 25 years worth) of film and slide images that need to be digitized before they can be archived. Stay tuned, this may take a while…

In the mean time, I hope you enjoy this collection! If you see something you like, let me know; print prices are reasonable. If you want copies of digital files, the licensing fees are also reasonable. Just let me know what you need.

And, by all means, please do feel free to share! Thanks for your interest and support!!
